How to brew drip coffee best, is not well known. Most drip coffee runs through either a small cone that fits on top of a coffee mug or a machine with a paper filter or reusable metal filter in it.
For best taste, grind your coffee just prior to using it. On average, use one or two tablespoons for each eight ounces of cold water. You will adjust the ratio according to your taste.
If you are going to buy a grinder, consider a mill or burr grinder. They are more consistent than a blade grinder. When the grounds are more consistent, you avoid over-extraction of particles that are too small, which creates bitter coffee.
If you are using a paper filter, rinse the paper filter first to remove paper taste and loose fibers.
Wet the coffee grounds with cold water and let sit for thirty seconds before running hot water through the grounds.
Do not use distilled water, softened water, or water from the tap. Some water contains salt and chlorine and these will negatively affect the flavor of the coffee.
How to brew drip coffee well (when brewing a single cup) requires patience. Especially since, when properly done, it takes two minutes, pouring slowly. Take the time. You'll appreciate the results.
When using a drip machine be sure to remove the coffee pot from the heat when the coffee has finished brewing. If you must keep it heated, use the lowest setting to help prevent burning the coffee. Do not use brew pause. If you do, the coffee strength will not be consistent for the pot.
When making espresso in an automatic machine, brewing should take between twenty and thirty seconds.
Tips: Most coffee starts to burn when it sits for fifteen minutes on heat. The best average wattage for a coffee pot to create great coffee is 1000 Watts.
The last of the coffee that comes through the coffee grounds is usually the least flavorful and can become bitter. You may wish to remove the coffee just before that point.
Think of medium grind as having the consistency of table sugar. The grind determines just how long water is in contact with the coffee. The courser the grind, the more quickly the water flows through the grounds. A finer grind causes the water to move more slowly through the grounds. Think of water flowing through a layer of sand as opposed to rocks.
How to brew drip coffee is something learned. Practice makes perfect, so adjust the grind so that the entire brew cycle takes between four to six minutes. If it's too fast, the coffee will be weak; having a "watered down" appearance and have very little aroma. If too slow, it will be bitter and bitter coffee is not pleasant on the tongue.
When brewing drip coffee it is recommended to brew at least four or more cups at a time. The problem is that most coffee machines do not get up to the proper temperature quickly enough to only brew a couple of cups.
To all you coffee lovers out there... I have been drinking coffee for over 43 years and have never had a better cup than this brand of Kona Coffee. Immediately, I could taste the difference in what I had been drinking and this cup of perfection was worlds apart from an ordinary cup of coffee. It's like I had been consuming an acidic, watered-down version of coffee and not realizing it. I like the fact that the growers take great care in producing only the finest coffee bean. This coffee is now the only coffee I will drink! Once you have experienced this delectable, flavorful cup of coffee, I can promise you there is no settling for less than the best.

Just wanted to thank you on the excellent coffee.
I ordered some dark roast a month ago and gave it a try at work on my little coffeemaker. The office smelled great and the taste was outstanding. I did give away a few cups because our office coffee is garbage but I am a bit greedy with my supplies when it comes to that kind of quality.
I gave folks your site but I think other folks can get their own.
Good stuff.

I absolutely love your coffee! I've never been a big coffee drinker until now. I can literally sit at my desk and drink cup after cup after cup. Not only does it give me a burst of energy, but it smells amazing and is very delicious. Definitely has a sweeter taste than any other coffee I have ever tasted. Usually, most coffee is sort of bitter. Not this coffee. The Kaluli coffee is wonderful! I love it.

I've been a coffee drinker for years now. When I lived in the Bay Area I had a favorite cafe that made the best coffee and I was a loyal customer. Recently, I found the tastiest coffee I've ever had and the best part is, I don't have to go to a cafe to find it. I can order it from the comfort of my own home! It's the Ferrari of coffee. It's so full of flavor, it makes Starbucks and Coffee Bean's stuff taste like bitter water. You've got to try a cup for yourself.

This is my day. Bweeeep! Bweeeeep! Bweeeeeep! Goes the alarm. The shrill sound is a cruel reminder that there is no early morning forest bird waking you today. Wap! Yes, that was your head hitting the cabinet doors since you're stumbling towards the grinder with your eyes closed. You finally reach it, you pour into the grinder the most delicious coffee beans ever tasted. You turn on the grinder and it makes short aromatic work of your favorite, the dark roast. Only the dark roast will do. Especially on cold, dark mornings. 4 agonizingly slow minutes later, the steaming, fragrant elixir is in your cup. A sip or two into it, the alarm is forgotten, the head is not throbbing, and you swear you can hear those birds! You silently promise yourself that the next time you travel to Kona, Hawaii; you're bringing an empty suitcase to fill with bags of this coffee! At the end of the cup, the world is just a bit brighter, maybe a bit warmer, and you decide sandals should be perfectly appropriate business attire for the day ;-) Thanks for the great coffee!
