How to Cold Brew Coffee Method # 1:

Obtain whole coffee beans. Dark Roast usually works best.

Grind your beans on the Coarse or Press setting.

Measure out about 4.5 ounces of ground coffee to every 8 ounces of water. (Do not use softened water.)

Put your grounds into a French Press or Coffee Press.

Add room temperature water to the grounds. Make certain that all grounds are wet.

Let steep at room temperature for at least 12 hours (some people prefer steeping while refrigerated).

Filter coffee from grounds by very, very slowly pressing the filter's plunger down to the bottom of the French Press.

Pour into another container and store refrigerated.

Use for any type of coffee-flavored drink.

(Cold brewed coffee is less acidic that hot brewed coffee, and has less caffeine. It is also easier on the stomach.)

How to Cold Brew Coffee Method # 2:

Here's the second cold brew coffee method. It's true that cold brewing takes longer than brewing a pot of hot coffee. For that reason we encourage you to plan in advance. Is cold brewing better than hot brewing? That depends on you. If you like your brew to have a strong flavor with all the acid and bite, then cold brew may not be for you. On the other hand, you may take a sip and fall instantly in love with the cold brew. Just try it at least once. You may just discover you love it!

These are the items needed to brew cold coffee. (This will produce 2 to 3 glasses of iced coffee.)

  • A container to be placed in the refrigerator when the brewing is finished. This can be a pitcher or carafe or even a jar with a well fitting lid. For example, a common mason jar may be used.
  • A tall glass or again, a mason jar for the brewing. A second glass that will be used to pour the steeped coffee mixture into.
  • Any stainless steel kitchen strainer. Just make sure the mesh is very fine. A trick for a strainer that is too course is to use some cheesecloth to help strain.

Obtain whole coffee beans and grind on "course" or "press" setting with four to five ounces for every eight ounces of cold water.

Pour the dry, ground coffee into the heat resistant jar, carafe, glass, or container where the brewing will take place. Then pour in the water.

(It is important to pour the dry coffee in first or you may have difficulty getting the coffee to mix with the water.)

Make sure all grounds are wet. Close the lid of the brewing container. Refrigerate for at least twelve hours, though some people prefer to brew at room temperature.

After the time has passed, prepare your strainer for use. If the strainer holes are larger than the coffee grounds, then line the inside of the strainer with the cheesecloth.

Slowly pour your brewed coffee through the strainer and into the container below that you will be storing the coffee in.

Once that is done, refrigerate the brewed coffee until use. It may be too strong for some drinks and so may require some dilution with water when used.

What our
customers say,

To all you coffee lovers out there... I have been drinking coffee for over 43 years and have never had a better cup than this brand of Kona Coffee. Immediately, I could taste the difference in what I had been drinking and this cup of perfection was worlds apart from an ordinary cup of coffee. It's like I had been consuming an acidic, watered-down version of coffee and not realizing it. I like the fact that the growers take great care in producing only the finest coffee bean. This coffee is now the only coffee I will drink! Once you have experienced this delectable, flavorful cup of coffee, I can promise you there is no settling for less than the best.

Kathy - Boulder Creek, CA

Fast delivery. Coffee arrived in reusable airtight bags that "really" seal. This coffee is fresh. I know that it is fresh because it is not bitter or flat when it is brewed. You don't need sugar or milk with this coffee. It tastes good just the way it is.

Tom - Oakley, CA

Just wanted to thank you on the excellent coffee.
I ordered some dark roast a month ago and gave it a try at work on my little coffeemaker. The office smelled great and the taste was outstanding. I did give away a few cups because our office coffee is garbage but I am a bit greedy with my supplies when it comes to that kind of quality. I gave folks your site but I think other folks can get their own.

Good stuff.
Robert - Concord, CA

I absolutely love your coffee! I've never been a big coffee drinker until now. I can literally sit at my desk and drink cup after cup after cup. Not only does it give me a burst of energy, but it smells amazing and is very delicious. Definitely has a sweeter taste than any other coffee I have ever tasted. Usually, most coffee is sort of bitter. Not this coffee. The Kaluli coffee is wonderful! I love it.

Elizabeth - Raleigh, NC

I've been a coffee drinker for years now. When I lived in the Bay Area I had a favorite cafe that made the best coffee and I was a loyal customer. Recently, I found the tastiest coffee I've ever had and the best part is, I don't have to go to a cafe to find it. I can order it from the comfort of my own home! It's the Ferrari of coffee. It's so full of flavor, it makes Starbucks and Coffee Bean's stuff taste like bitter water. You've got to try a cup for yourself.

Tyler - New York City, NY

My name is Lara and I would like to tell you how great I think the Kona Coffee is. It is so great that I normally drink 2 cups of it. Love it! Love it! Love it! Thank you!!!

Lara - Marion, OH

This is my day. Bweeeep! Bweeeeep! Bweeeeeep! Goes the alarm. The shrill sound is a cruel reminder that there is no early morning forest bird waking you today. Wap! Yes, that was your head hitting the cabinet doors since you're stumbling towards the grinder with your eyes closed. You finally reach it, you pour into the grinder the most delicious coffee beans ever tasted. You turn on the grinder and it makes short aromatic work of your favorite, the dark roast. Only the dark roast will do. Especially on cold, dark mornings. 4 agonizingly slow minutes later, the steaming, fragrant elixir is in your cup. A sip or two into it, the alarm is forgotten, the head is not throbbing, and you swear you can hear those birds! You silently promise yourself that the next time you travel to Kona, Hawaii; you're bringing an empty suitcase to fill with bags of this coffee! At the end of the cup, the world is just a bit brighter, maybe a bit warmer, and you decide sandals should be perfectly appropriate business attire for the day ;-) Thanks for the great coffee!

To whom it may concern:
My name is Jason from Galveston, Texas and love Kona Coffee! I've been a Folgers coffee drinker since I can remember.. I had a cup of Kona Coffee for the first time a couple days ago and my taste buds went crazy!!... I must confess, I switched to Kona Coffee and if I can share a slogan it would be "Kona... bringing a taste of paradise to your home."

Regards,
